St. Aloysius’ Provincialate

HISTORY OF ST. ALOYSIUS’ PROVINCIALATE

St. Aloysius’ Provincialate located at St. Aloysius’ Provincialate, Bogyoke Road, Block 8, Ward 6, Pyin Oo Lwin, Mandalay Division, Myanmar, has a history dating back to 1952 when it was established under the guidance of Rev. Fr. Mondrool and with permission from Bishop A. Failure. Originally located outside the Church Campus, it was later moved to St. Mary Convent (Provincialate) Campus in 1955. The Congregation, led by Mother Gertrude and several other Sisters, engaged in Parochial work, Private Tuition, Teaching Catechism, and instructing at St. Mary Primary School. The mission of the Provincialate was to care for Boarding, uplift education among the poor, and educate the tribal communities.

Over the years, the Provincialate expanded its facilities, adding extensions like a Retreat and Seminar Hall, a Nursery School, and a Chapel. The establishment aimed to serve the community by looking after the Boarding, Engaging in Parochial activities, running a Nursery, Teaching Catechism, visiting the sick and households, participating in prayer meetings, and assisting those preparing for the Sacrament of Marriage.

Key members of the Provincialate includes Sr. Maria Eulalia as the Provincial Superior, Sr. Anna Ciinpi the Secretary, Sr. Elizabeth Htwe the Procurator, Sr. Bibiana Sandar the House Superior responsible for church work, along with other Sisters viz. Sr. Gyi Anne, Mother Rosey, Sr. Jane Sebastian, Sr. Fatima Mary, and Sr. Martha Doss.
