Bluemen House – Puducherry

THE HISTORY OF BLUMEN HOUSE

Blumen House in Puducherry is a community that was established in 1998 with the purpose of serving as a juniors’ house. Over the years, it has undergone several transformations and currently serves as a house for college studying students. The community is led by Sr. Rosali (Late) and has a rich history.

The Superior General at the time, Rev. Mother L.C. Maria, purchased the house from its owners who wanted to settle in France. The house was renovated, and Rev. Sr. Rosali (Late) was appointed as the Juniors Mistress and Vocation Promotor.

In 2000-2001, Rev. Sr. Gonsala took charge of the house, followed by Rev. Sr. D. Rani from 2002 to 2007. During this period, the house was handed over to Shalom Province and used as a postulants’ house. Rev. Sr. Celine Rose Mary served as the Postulants Mistress from 2007 to 2010, and Rev. Sr. Motcha Pushpa Rani from 2008 to 2010. In 2009-2012, Sr. Sharmila served as the Postulants Mistress before being selected as the General Secretary.

From December to May in 2012, Rev. Sr. Arockiya Mary served as the Postulants Mistress. In 2013, the house was once again handed over to the generalate. Rev. Sr. I. Velanganni became the Tertian Mistress from 2013 to 2015, and the house underwent renovation during this period.

From 2016 to 2019, Blumen House became a house for college studying students, with Rev. Sr. Issac as the Superior. Three Andra Sisters resided in the house and studied at Idaya College in Pakkamudaiyanpet.

In 2021, Sr. Pushpa was appointed as the Tertian Mistress, continuing the ministry in
