THE HISTORY OF THIRU IRUDHAYA ANDAVAR COTTAGE, PUDUCHERRY

Thiru Irudhaya Andavar Cottage, which was established in 1992-1993 to increase the student strength of Thiru Irudhaya Andavar High School. The cottage’s main aim is to uplift the lives of economically backward and downtrodden families by providing accommodation and education to girls. Under the supervision of Rev. Sr. Arockia Mary. It was registered on 27-09-1993. Initially, there were 28 girls in the cottage, and it aimed to increase the strength of Thiru Irudhaya Andavar High School.

Purpose: The primary purpose of establishing the cottage was to increase the student strength of Thiru Irudhaya Andavar High School.

Present Ministry: The cottage provides various educational programs and activities, including yoga, drawing, stitching, handwork/craftwork, dance, singing, counseling, and English grammar.

Important Events: The cottage celebrates various events, including Pongal, Women’s Day, International Women Child Day, Independence Day, Children’s Day, Diwali, Christmas, New Year, and medical camps.

First Cottage Members: The initial members of the cottage were Sr. Arockia Mary, Sr. Lilly, Sr. Marthin, and Sr. Bambina.

Year of Renovation: The cottage underwent renovation on 9/10/2006, under the supervision of Rev. Mother Noel Rani (Superior General) and Rev. Mother G. Rajamani (Provincial).
