THE HISTORY OF ST. ANN’S CONVENT IN MEIKTILA
St. Ann’s Convent in Meiktila, located near Kandawlay Yeiktha, close to St. Anthony’s Church in Meiktila, Mandalay Division, was opened on 13 June 1986, and serves several purposes, including overseeing the Parish, Teaching Catechism, and engaging in social activities. The Convent’s current activities involve Parochial duties, operating a Nursery, visiting the sick, and participating in Parochial activities with the Priest. The aim of the Convent is to undertake apostolic work and run a Nursery. The leadership consists of Sister Philomena Aye the Superior, along with Sr. Benedicta, Sr. Marina, and Sr. Magdalena Zin Mar. The Sisters are involved in Parochial tasks, family visits, caring for the sick, attending prayer meetings, teaching catechism, managing the Nursery, and facilitating the Youth Society activities. The Convent is associated with the Sisters of St. Aloysius.
