THE HISTORY OF KURJI – PATNA

During the leadership of Rev. Mother A. Mary Stella, the decision was made to establish a Community for Health Ministry in the North Region. Sr. Angel Satprasad Mary informed the Superior General about a vacancy at Kurji Hospital in the Archdiocese of Patna. After discussions with administrators and Sr. Jaculin Jesu SCN, it was decided to send two Nurse Sisters to the Hospital.

On 29 June 2017, two Nurse Sisters, Sr. Arokya Selvi and Sr. Suganthi, were sent to Kurji Hospital. Sr. Juliet Cindrella from Basauni community, Patna, accompanied them. They were welcomed by the Archbishop William D’Souza and Rev. Fr. Peter Ladias at the Archbishop’s House in Bankipur. The next day, they met with administer Rev. Sr. Jaculin Jesu SCN and completed the necessary requirements to join the Hospital service. The Sisters were provided accommodation within the Hospital Premises.
