Kazipur – Regional House

THE HOSTORY OF GONZAGA  REGIONAL HOUSE

The Gonzaga Northern Region, located in Kazipur, Allahabad, was erected in 2019 and is led by the first coordinator, Sr. Nirmala. The region has a total of 14 communities engaged in various ministries, including Evangelization, Education, Social Work, and Health Care.

The Gonzaga Regional House in Gauspur, Allahabad, was established in 2019 with the generous support of the Bishop Most Rev. Dr. Raphy Manjaly. The Formation House serves as the Regional Center for the FSAG Sisters in North India. The foundation stone was laid on 3 July 2019.

The pioneer team of the Gauspur Mission consisted of Sr. Sahaya Rashmi Papa the Superior, Sr. P. Swarna Kumari as the Secretary at North Region and Formator, and Sr. Banka Nirmala Jyothi. They were engaged in educational ministry, with Sr. Swarna later was in-charge of Formation.

In the year 2020-2021, Sr. Josephine Mary joined the community, and the Initiation Day of the Aspirants was held on 8 November 2020 in the presence of the Superior General and other dignitaries.

Sr. Mary Cherian was the Formation in-charge, and Sr. Stephy and Sr. Priya Darshini were Teachers.

The community members actively carry out their responsibilities in education ministry, collaborating with Fr. Raymond, the local mission in-charge and the Principal of St. Joseph’s School in Khazipur.
