THE HISTORY ST. JOSEPH’S GIRLS HIGHER SECONDARY SCHOOL, MUGAIYUR

The school was founded in 1987 with the initiative of Rev. Sr. Irumina Mary and Rev. Sr. Florence Mary to uplift marginalized girls through education. It started as a 6th standard school and gradually expanded to include higher classes.

Purpose: The primary purpose of the institution is to provide education to girls from poor villages and encourage women’s education.

Staff: The school has a team of teaching and non-teaching staff, including aided and self-financed teachers. It also provides midday meals to students from classes VI to X.

Achievements: The school has achieved numerous awards and accolades in various sports and cultural activities. It consistently achieves 100% results in 10th, 11th, and 12th standards.

School Developments: Over the years, the school has undertaken various developments, including building classrooms, toilets, computer facilities, and providing uniforms and stationery to the students. Benefactors have played a significant role in supporting the education of the girls.

Celebrations: The school celebrates all national and religious festivals, promoting cultural values and enabling students to interact with society. Alumni celebrations and parents’ day are also observed.

Renovation: The school underwent renovation in 2005
