HISTORY OF THE LITTLE FLOWER HIGH SCHOOL

Little Flower High School Mylavaram was established on 8 September 1979 by the Franciscan Sisters of St. Aloysius Gonzaga (FSAG) The first Headmistress of the School was Sr. Josephine Mary. The School was primarily meant for the Catholic minority community but it was open to all irrespective of caste, creed, and community. As a minority institution, it reserves for itself its inherent and constitutionally guaranteed right of management and administration.  In the year 1997, the School was further upgraded to the level of Junior College with the tireless efforts of Sr. Josephine Mary Stella.  She served as the first Principal of the Junior College.

  • The School and the Junior College which educate both Boys and Girls, have the recognition of the Department of Education of the Government of Andhra Pradesh.
  • The medium instruction in the School and Junior College is English and Telugu respectively.
  • The Little Flower School aims at the all-around development of the student’s academic excellence and a high level of performance in the classrooms is expected of each student.

BRIEF HISTORY OF THE LITTLE FLOWER HIGH SCHOOL 

Little Flower High School is a Minority Catholic Institution which is under the Diocese of Vijayawada. Before it came into existence there was no High School in and around Mylavaram and a handful of the rich and well-to-do people would go to Vijayawada for education. People were hardly educated, marginalized, downcast, economically and socially very backward. In the year 1979, the High School was started with the tireless efforts of Sr. Mary Josephine.  Children from 16 villages come here to study. Little Flower High School has now completed 42 glorious years of its establishment. And the Junior College which was started in the year 1997 also completed 24 years. The first Principal of the College was Sr. Josephine Mary Stella.

Location: The Main Campus of the High School is located on Badrachalm Road at Mylavaram. The High School is situated in an area of 6.5 Acres and 2.80 Acres for Junior College in Santhi Nagar.
