Background of Dakkili Convent : When Sr. Gregory and the
sisters were doing their ministry at Rappur, the District Collector came for a visit and the Sisters
requested the Collector that they be provided a place to do their Educational Ministry and to empower the people around Dakkili, and he allotted this place.

History of the Community, Dakkili

In the year 1995 we started Infant Jesus Convent at Dakkili. The Inauguration ceremony was presided by Most Rev. Dr. Balasamy, the Bishop of the Diocese of Nellore. On 16 June 1995, the community members came to this place.

The pioneers and the first community members were Sr. Amalorppavam and Sr. Pasala Elizabeth. Sr. Amalorppavam was appointed as a the Superior cum Headmistress and Sr. Pasala Elizabeth was appointed as the Assistant Headmistress.

With lot of compassion and conviction they visited the houses and introduced the New School from LKG to V standard at Dakkili and the Parents trusted them and began to admit their children in the School. At that time the strength of the students was around 75 and the Teachers were 4 in number. Around 65 members from different villages such as Mopur, Althurpadu, Marlagunta and Dakkili came for Sunday Mass at Infant Jesus Convent, at Dakkili.
