THE HISTORY OF THARANGANIMATHA CONVENT IN MANGINIPUDI
Tharanganimatha Convent at Manginipudi, Krishna District, was established on 13 June 1988, focusing on Health Care, Social Work, Evangelization, and Education. The initial community members included Sr. Amala, Sr. Augustine Sagayam, and Sr. Nirmala, and Sr. Amala serving as the Superior.
The Community Members aim at Health Care, Social Programs such as MCH and Tailoring, the Trysam Programme, Evangelization, and Education. Most Rev. Dr. Thumma Joseph, the Bishop of the Diocese of Vijayawada, blessed the convent. During this time, Rev. Mother Nambikai Mary served as the Superior General, assisted by Rev. Mother Baptista Mary.
The community members are engaged in various ministries, including running a Boarding for Children in 1994, initiating Women’s Groups in villages in 1998, and establishing a Balvadi School.
At present, the convent’s ministries involve Social Work, specifically the MASSS Ministry, and Evangelization Ministry.
