On those days nuns were lived in a hut and they were suffered for their basic needs. Sr. Regina Mary was the superior. There was a caste difference of that time. During that time they set up the root on fire and sister’s turned up belief in met of many difficulties. The Most.Rev.Fr. Delbeire who was the parish priest of kallakurichi. This village belongs to the pondichery diocese. Who spread to scriptures to purify the Hindus with his spiritual thirst .The most Rev.Bishop colas gave order to the parish priest to called Gonzaga sisters for mission. So he bought a land at Ulagankathan and started a convent. The apostolic work started here. Caste differences were going on. The Harijains people served as a slave to the rich people of this village. At the same time sisters were used to go for house visit and worked specially the sick and suffering people and gave medicine mainly they preach the Good news to the poor. Through the preaching 49 Hindus family and were turned into catholic. Sisters went to karanur by walk which was located from Ulagankathan 3 km. And they met the sick and suffering people and gave medicine. So the village people asked our sisters to educate their children. Our sisters used this opportunity to start a school with their children. Our sisters went to the surrounding villages like inthili., porpadakurichi and tried to invited their children to the school on this time Rev. Fr. Delbeire swami got donation from Foreign and helped our sister’s a lot in all the ways. In the year of 1949 the Number of children in the orphanage increased up to 50 with the hard work of e sisters. In 1958 month of may the teacher who worked in our school that teacher join our congregation to became a nun. In the of 1962 sisters were build a new chapel and install the Blessed Sacrament. In the year of 1963 this community silver jubilee celebrated. The teacher one who worked in our school got vocation to join culunilny congregation. In 1969 near the chapel rooms was build for the use of our sisters. On 1970 in the month of July Sr.Kulodin Mary worked as a teacher to kallakurichi diocese school. A new gate was put up at the front gate of the house. 15.09.2021 this day very special one, because sisters were lived in the old house. The great effort of at present Mother General G.Rajamani planed to build a new convent in the frist step of the foundation stone were put our parish priest Rev.Fr.L. Joseph Raj offered the holy mass and blessed the place.
