St. Joseph Convent – Pagalpatty

St. Joseph Convent Pagalpatty is a community that was established with the purpose of evangelization and teaching. It was founded on April 19, 2009, under the leadership of Mother C. Noel Rani, who served as the Superior General at the time of establishment. The present ministry of the community is focused on teaching.

The first community members of St. Joseph Convent Pagalpatty were Sr. Franciska (Superior & Teacher), Sr. Margaret Daisy (Principal), Sr. Susai Sagayam (Clerk), and Sr. Pascal (Assistant Warden). The community also includes student sisters, namely Sr. Arul Mary, Sr. Deva Selvi, Sr. Delphine, Sr. Rita Mary, and Sr. Susai Mary.

Throughout its history, the St. Joseph Convent Pagalpatty community has been involved in various activities and milestones. Some notable events include:

• On February 24, 2010, the convent received a new electricity connection.
• On June 29, 2021, St. Joseph Teacher Training Institution donated a new bus to Gonzaga Arts and Science College for Women in Kathanpallam.
• On November 13, 2010, the Pagalpatty community joined the Steel Plant Parish.
• On April 2, 2011, a new four-wheeler was purchased for the institution by Rev. Mother C. Noel Rani.
• On April 26, 2011, a retirement function was held for Rev. Sr. Margaret Daisy, who served 12 years at St. Joseph Teacher Training Institute.
• On February 27, 2013, Mr. Leo donated a new borewell motor and Aqua to St. Joseph Hostel students.
• On May 16, 2014, a new pathway was provided to Mr. Manikkam, the nearby landlord, as they did not have a pathway to reach their land.
• On March 17, 2015, a retirement function was held for Rev. Sr. Franciska, with Rev. Mother Mary Stella as the chief guest.
• On February 11, 2015, a new compound wall was established in the backside of their land at a cost of Rs. 5,70,000.
• On April 1, 2020, a six-month special training was given to the tertian by Rev. Sr. Rossa K.V.
• On April 29, 2020, a silver jubilee celebration was held for Sr. Jona at St. Joseph Convent.

These events showcase the community’s dedication to their ministry and their involvement in various social activities and milestones throughout the years.
