St. Louis Convent – Elanagar

The HISTORY OF ST. LOUIS CONVENT, ELANAGAR

St. Louis Convent Elanagar was established with three sisters: Rev. Sr. Sagayam as the superior, Rev. Sr. Mangkala Sundari, and Rev. Sr. Devanayagi. The community’s purpose is focused on education, evangelization, and fostering a strong faith among the faithful. They also aim to create a harmonious human society.

The present ministries of the community include education, evangelization, preparing for Holy Mass, and assisting people in receiving sacraments with the help of the priest. They also run a hostel for students.

Important events in the community are celebrated, including the feast of their founder Ansoldo. They maintain a strong spiritual life through regular prayers and adoration. They also value visits from their Mother and Provincial, and actively participate in CRI (Conference of Religious of India) meetings. The community was established between 2019 and 2021, but specific details about the Superior General, the diocese, and the bishop at the time of establishment are not mentioned.
