Gonzaga Illam – Andipatti

THE HISTORY OF GONZAGA ILLAM,  ANDIPATTI,  SALEM

Gonzaga Illam in Andipatti Salem is a community established on 29th October 2016 under the guidance of Rev. Mother A. Mary Stella, the Superior General at that time. The community’s purpose is focused on evangelization, providing education to the poor, teaching catechism, and offering free evening tuitions.

The present ministry of the community includes teaching in the school, conducting catechism classes in the parish, and actively participating in various parish ministries. They also work on strengthening the faith through Basic Christian Communities.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, the community engaged in charity work at both the cri and community levels.

The first community members of Gonzaga Illam were Rev. Sr. Rabeckal, Rev. Sr. Ephrasis, and Rev. Sr. Periyanayagi.

In terms of renovation, the community has undertaken various projects, including house painting, white wash, inter block works in the entrance, staircase construction for the water tank, and terrace repairs.
