Ansaldo Convent – Chetpet

THE HISTORY OF ANSALDO CONVENT – CHETPET

Ansaldo Convent Chetpet was established in 2005 during the leadership of Mother Noel Rani. The community has been dedicated to the ministry of education and evangelization. The main purpose of the establishment was to provide education to teachers’ trainees and school students, with a special focus on helping underprivileged children in the surrounding area.

The sisters of Lourdu Annai Illam took the initiative to provide education to these children, ensuring that they receive scholarships and access to valuable information that improves their ability to think and understand the world. Additionally, the community actively engages in evangelization by participating in Anbiyam, conducting catechism classes, attending funeral masses, preparing children for First Holy Communion, and offering prayers during house visits to meet the needs of the people.

The community has celebrated various important events over the years, including final vows of many sisters, tertian’s experiences, and silver jubilees of several sisters. They have also adopted children, provided seminars to guide them towards meaningful lives, and supported them during the challenging period of the COVID-19 pandemic by offering tuition classes.

The birthdays and feast days of the sisters are celebrated with prayer services and Mass, and St. Aloysius feast is observed by providing food to the poor in the community. The community also holds a meaningful prayer service during the Ansaldo feast in November, inspiring the people in the surrounding area.

Since its inception in 2005 under the leadership of Sr. Fathima Sebastine, the community has focused on evangelization, organizing special classes for school students, and praying for the people they meet. This approach has fostered a strong bond with the local community, making them feel united.

The community’s mission has been to establish and maintain outstanding educational institutions with the aim of providing education to the poor and marginalized. They believe that education plays a crucial role in transforming lives and enabling individuals to make informed decisions. The sisters have tirelessly worked to bring education to every corner, ensuring a meaningful life for all.

In conclusion, the community of Lourdu Annai Illam has fulfilled its mission and vision by providing education and serving others through evangelization. The impact of their work is reflected in changed lives and a better world, especially for the poorest and most marginalized in society.
