THE HISTORY OF ISRAEL – EMMAUS

Establishment: The community was established on August 31st, 2018, at Emmaus station mission in Palestine through an agreement between the German Association and the Franciscan Sisters of St. Aloysius Gonzaga (FSAG) Puducherry.

Purpose: The community’s purpose is to collaborate with the German Association of the Holy Land (DVHL) and provide holistic health care, particularly at the nursing home, Beit Emmaus, in Qubeibeh, Palestine.

Founder: The community was founded under the leadership of Rev. Mother A. Mary Stella.

Ministries: The members of the community engage in the healing ministry of Christ by providing compassionate care to the sick and suffering.

Important Events: The community celebrated Founder’s Day on November 3rd, 2022. Additionally, they participated in the DVHL 50 years Jubilee Celebration in Tabgha on November 13th, 2022, and the Salvatorian Sisters Jubilee Celebration on January 2nd, 2023. A strategic workshop with DVHL directors was attended on January 26th, 2023.

Initial Members: The first community members were Sr. Ethalpet, Sr. Jonsi, and Sr. Sindhu.

Current Members: The present community members are Sr. Leela Kalai Selvi, Sr. Ethalpet, Sr. Johnsi, and Sr. Sindhu.

The community’s primary focus is on providing compassionate healthcare and carrying out the healing ministry of Christ in the spirit of their founder. They have actively participated in various celebrations and workshops to further their mission and engage with other organizations and communities.
