Gnanodaya Formation House – Bandalaguda

THE HISTORY PF GNAODAYA FORMATION HOUSE, BANDALAGUDA

The Gnanodaya Formation House in Bandalaguda, Cheeryal, Telangana, India, was established with the aim of offering Formation to the Candidates and Evangelization Ministry within the Archdiocese of Secunderabad. The effort was initiated by the Rev. Mother L.C. Maria the Superior General and Rev. Sr. Francisca the Provincial Superior. The process involved negotiations with Rev. Fr. Sandi Yahoo S.J., who provided 2 acres of land, later on it was expanded to 13 acres after discussions with Most Rev. Dr. Arulappa, the Archbishop of Hyderabad. The Land registration took place on 27 May 1998.

The land’s maintenance was overseen by Rev. Fr. Raymond Ambrose, and the Sisters initially resided in a Rented House owned by Rev. Fr. Arokiam. They acquired an old jeep from Rev. Raymond Ambrose for transportation. By 21 June 1998, nine Aspirants arrived and stayed in a rented space until the Formation House was completed. On 14 April 2004, the House was named Gnanodaya Formation House, which was inaugurated by Most Rev. Dr. Marampudi Joji and Rev. Sr. Noel Rani, the Superior General.

The primary goals were Formation and Evangelization Ministry. Assitance came from the Archbishop of the Hyderabad, Most Rev. Marampudi Joji, Most Rev. Thumma Bala, and Most Rev. Poola Antony. The contributions of the Superior Generals Rev. Mother L.C. Maria and Rev. Mother Noel Rani were greatly appreciated. The initial community members were Rev. Sr. Irudhaya Mary and Rev. Sr. Pauline.

Sr. Agnes, Sr. Annammal, Sr. Jayamma, Sr. Jesintha Grace, Sr. Francisca, Sr. V. Maria, Sr. Rosali, Sr. Nirmala Pauline, Sr. James Mary (Burma), Sr. Siriya, and Sr. Sopiya significantly contributed to the ministry. Various priests, such as Rev. Fr. Raymond Ambrose, Rev. Fr. Arokiam, Rev. Fr. Thana Paul, Rev. Fr. Lourdhu Raj, and Rev. Fr. Sagaya Raj, supported the community’s religious life.

Presently, the main focus of the Community is on Evangelization.
