THE HISTORY OF BENEDIKTBEUERN – GERMANY
Benediktbeuern is located in the Diocese of Augsburg. Diocesan Vicar Capitular Msgs. Dr. Bertram Meier is responsible for overseeing religious matters in the Diocese of Augsburg.
The Community of the Salesians of Don Bosco is directed by Fr. Claudius Amann (SDB).
The Regional Superior of the community is Sr. Mary Edward (FSAG).
Sr. Rita Peter had previously resided in the house during her first stay in Benediktbeuern. The couple, Mr. Michael Ganzmüller and Mrs. Josephin Ganzenmüller, who took her in at that time, had decided that the house should be given to “Church in Need” after their passing. Prelate Bertram Meier described the New Convent as an enrichment for the Diocese and Benediktbeuern. He extended his best wishes to the Franciscan missionaries, Rev. Mo. Noel Rani (Superior General), Regional Superior Mary Edward, and Sr. Rita Peter, Sr. Xaveria, and Sr. Stella Maria Lawrence.
The house was purchased from “Church in Need,” with contributions from Sr. Rita Peter, Sr. Xaveria, Sr. Stella Maria, and the Germering Community.
Rev. Mo. Noel Rani serves as the Superior General of the community.
