THE HISTORY OF PAHADIYA – GUJARAT
St. Aloysius Gonzaga Nivas in Pahadiya Parish was established in 2021. It was created from Nanakantharia Parish in 2017, and the first Parish Priest was Rev. Fr. Jeyaraj V. The Archdiocese desired to have a religious community in Pahadiya Parish, and Rev. Mother G. Rajamani FSAG, the Superior General, joyously sent two missionaries, Sr. Aloysia and Sr. Selin, to Pahadiya.
On 24 August 2021, the Convent was newly established in Pahadiya Parish, and they were warmly welcomed by the parishioners and the local Priests. The Sisters were given permission to stay in the home of Mr. Ashwinbhai and his family, who welcomed them with garlands and coconuts.
A strong foundation was laid for the new convent building in Pahadiya, and on 20 October 2021. Most Rev. Thomas Macwan, the Archbishop of Gandhinagar, celebrated the Holy Eucharist and laid the Foundation Stone. The Archbishop also provided a new two-wheeler for the mission of the sisters.
The community engaged itself in various apostolic works, including Catechism Classes, Marriage Preparation Courses, Music training, etc.
On 9 January 2022, the Archbishop Thomas Macwan laid the Foundation Stone for the renovation and extension of the Parish Church and seven Children from the Parish received their First Holy Communion, and on 17 January 2022.
