THE HISTORY OF ST. FATHIMA ILLAM, CUDDALORE N.T.

In 1986, the Sisters of St. Aloysius Gonzaga from Puducherry established a community in Pudupalayam, Beach Road, Cuddalore. The main purpose was to accommodate sisters working in different schools of Pondy province. The building was constructed by Rev. Fr. Iruthayasamy in his parish area, and it was generously provided to the sisters by Pondy Diocese. The community building was inaugurated by Rev. Mother General Barbaramary. The sisters of this community have been actively involved in the Teaching Ministry at various D.O.S. Schools.

 Name of the Superior General at the Establishment: Rev. Mother General Barbaramary.

Year of Establishment: 15.07.1986.

Purpose of Establishment: To accommodate sisters working in different schools of Pondy province.

Present Ministry: The community sisters are currently engaged in the Diocesan D.O.S. School.

Important events in the Community:

On 07.02.2019, the Year of Renovation, the Superior General was Rev. Mother G. Rajamani.

 Present Ministry: 

Currently, one sister is serving at St. Mary’s Middle School, a D.O.S. school.
